Pic Description: |
Dork somehow convinced a few Posettes to play a game of Strip Poker with him. As the game went on and he had only lost one sock, the ladies started wondering if the cards were marked.
Rendered in Poser 4 with postwork in Paint Shop Pro 8 (fixed stray pixels, enhanced contrast and saturation).
As I am striving to improve my skill levels, constructive criticism is welcomed about any aspect of this image.
I very much like to make more complex images with lots of props, but unfortunately I just don''t get many ideas for interesting subject matter. Here I thought that an image of four nekkid people playing cards would be too predictable, and that some dramatic tension could be generated by focusing on the first person who had to disrobe. Since my hardware is so old I have to make images like this one in stages--first I made the standing Posette and all the ''set'' props, then separately made, posed, and clothed Dork and imported him, then the same for the other two Posettes. I have to do it this way because by the time everything is in the scene Poser is running so slow that posing someone or making even minor changes is impractical. The method works, but unfortunately prevents me from trying different camera angles and lighting values as much as I usually do (the camera and lights here were set at the beginning of work on the scene and never changed after that). On the good side this process forces me to really think about what I want to see in the scene and plan things out, which hopefully results in a more skillfully composed image.
Prop credits are very numerous, but some of the more visible things are (all free items):
All clothes are default P4 stuff (transparency mapped) with mostly my own textures except: grey jeans texture by Stale Loseth, bra texure for P4 halter top by unknown, and standing girl''s panties by Stylo3D.
My own textures: Dining Gold Table by L. Verrina; Curtains by Zippo; (tall) Cabinet with Doors by Keyslayer;
Original textures: Radio by Amazing 3D Graphics; Lava Lamp by Codeman; (blue can) Flabby Beer product by remrem and yellowmellow; Wheelback chairs by Tony Lynch.
The movie poster in the corner is for an actual free short film (PG rated) called ''12 Hot Women,'' available on-line at www.12hotwomen.com
Posette and Dork skin textures by me; Kyoko Hair Mk2 and Kyoko Hair Mk3 by Kozaburo with my own textures; Men''s Remapped Hair 5 and texture by Kozaburo; Cool Bob Hair by Janet Glover with my own texture. |

—and the ONLY hand, that the girls won...
We can see, that Dork 'removed his right Sock....
"Don't you Dare— put that 'stinky thing
near me !" shouted Posette #1.....
When the day comes— that you upgrade
to a newer Poser version....
I think we will all be sitting here
with our socks blown off....
You do better with Poser 4
than I've ever seen...
I really love 'the facial expressions !

I'll add my "Great job" to the mix...
I love the poses and expressions. The people seem very relaxed, and are clearly good friends.
The lighting is very natural, and I'm impressed that this was accomplished "in stages"!!
{Thanks for the link to the short film; I was certainly going to ask you where you'd found that poster.}
