Pic Description: |
This apparently innocent tree became the ''Render from Hell''.
It all began with a prial of freebie trees by ''Genejoke'' on R**y. They had a nice balance of poly-count plus texture. Though made for DS, they included PP2 & OBJ for portability, plus JPG textures for leaves Diff and transparency, bark Diff and bump.
( Due to the convoluted folder tree required for dual-usage, I didn''t discover the PP2 until a few minutes ago...)
But, after importing the OBJ and allocating material textures, could I get the crinkly bark texture to show ? Or both tree and figure neither over- nor under-exposed ?
Try as I might, all Sunday afternoon, then all evening into the small-hours, Firefly rendered too bright, Superfly too bright or too dark, and that bark was either mirror-smooth or *furry*...
Then I managed to crash Poser, lost my best texture and render settings, had to back-track...
Yes, I wanted all three trees set in a garden with pergola etc etc. Given is now 03:30 BST and the cats are helping me type, I''ll settle for this one tree... |

That's a lot of work.
I hope that tree appreciates the effort.
_______________ I've found that to do well with any figure you really need to have a passion for that figure,
...and I hope you develop that passion for yours.

Good job NIK.
_______________ Two wrongs don't make a right.
But six left turns will get you around the block
and back in the driveway again.
