Pic Description: |
This ''Sassy Lassie'' is Cia of Hyrule, ported to FBX by ninetalescommander & co, see bunch of credits at...
https://www.deviantart.com/ninetalescommander/art/Cia-Hyrule-Warriors-3D-Model-906772013
The character is supplied as Blender model and FBX for several different outfits, hats, masks etc. This is the default version.
The FBX imported to my Poser_11 at default 100% scale. Takes a while for Poser to grok the many bones etc, so do not panic when figure does not appear ''promptly''. Give it time. In fact, go have a *leisurely* mug of tea / coffee / soda...
Due some quirk of Blender''s FBX export system, the model is not auto-textured. I confirmed this using FBX Review. This is not a ''hard-path'' or naming issue. When I looked into file using Autodesk''s classic FBX Toolkit, I found no texture calls.
Whatever, ''tis well rigged, so all else forgiven. Flip figure upright using *first* of 20+ sub-rigs in list, Cia_Waist_Cloth_000. This is also the sub-rig used to pose figure. Then, as Poser hierarchy does not like a surfeit of sub-rigs in ''root'' of scene, parent Cia''s other 20+ sub-rig''s to first''s body.
I used Poser''s material room system to hand-apply diffuse textures to these 20+ sub-rigs from the nice set of alternate PNGs supplied. All but hair got ''Default-Black-Red-Col''. All hair got ''Default-Hat-Hair-Col''. I made the hair-jewel gleam using ''super-ambient'' rather than wrangle Cycles'' nodes. Pose using that first sub-rig Cia_Waist_Cloth_000. The scene needed lots of light, two carefully arranged ''spots'' bringing out the features.
After my quickie test render, this quality run was Superfly, 128 pixel-samples, progressive, 1024 vols+buckets, using both my twin GPU cards. It ran while I made and ate my dinner, three well-filled baps...
Edit Credit: Document aggressively sub-edited by evening-shift''s Duty Cat, now sprawled across my wired track-ball''s arm while I type left-handed... |

20+ sub-rigs is not so bad, especially if the textures have 'useful' names.
35~~50+ sub-rigs, with no apparent rhyme nor reason to the textures' names-- Well, that's hard !
If pack includes eg MMD/PMX file, I may open that in DA's free PMX_Editor, see what goes where.
One model had ~85 sub-rigs, scant clue to what went where. IIRC, I applied the 'skin tones' to body-parts, a generic 'cammo' texture to anything fabric. It looked okay-ish, but still cost me a bad migraine...
But the model with ~100+ sub-rigs ?? Nah, not going there...
