Pic Description: I purchased this wonderful model by Hankster

I will be using her from time to time in my feeble attempts at art. But I decided to feature her here by herself. She has 203 objects in her construction, amazing!

The HMS Victory is most famous for her role as the flagship of Admiral Horatio Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. One of the oldest commissioned warship in the world, she currently lies in No 2 Dry Dock at Portsmouth Naval Base in England under going restoration.

This model is Hankster's attempt at a recreation of the ship as she looked just prior the Battle of Trafalgar. The main reference used to build the ship was the book "Anatom

That reminds me when I was a kid,
a friend of my father´s made a real world highly detailed modell of this ship, 1:30, I think, completely made of wood, cloth and everything.
all the rigging, all cannons, even the copperplates beneath the waterline
he even travelled to GB to make detail pics of the original
I used to visit him a lot while he was working on this, I was eight and completely fascinated by all the love he put into the details, so I know this ship wery well, too
