John - You can mount a cavalry squadron and maintain it for a year the price of an APC! Horses give so much mobility as vehicles and are immune to anti vehicle mines! And even if an IED explodes is a horse and a rider and not the entire squad and vehicle crew! And still remains a cavalry squadron very angry! And most of these people know how to ride them better driving!
