Post subject: Video Chat Room & Snow Leopard , Important
I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard
<br />
<br />
Unfortunately it looks like OOVOO light doesn't work on Safari and Snow Leopard, Like a lot of other plugins, they doesn't work in 64 bit mode.
<br />
<br />
Fixing it's simple, force it in 32 bit mode in this way:
<br />
Use Finder and go to "Utility", search for Safari, righ click (or option-click <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/icon_redface.gif" alt="" /> ) on it and select "Get Info" and select the "Open in 32-bit mode", that's it, the videochatroom will work again, once finished you can reenable the 64 bit mode in the reverse way.
<br />
<br />
Anyway I found another workaroud.
<br />
<br />
It looks like OOVOO light is a Java script/program that installs itself under the user library and it checks that you're using Safari and not another browser, while I think there is no reason why it shouldn't work on Firefox, I tried it with firefox and it seems to work (Firefox it's 32 bit).
<br />
But it needs a trick...
<br />
<br />
So, download and install firefox for Mac, I can't give you the link for your language, the link for me is for the italian version, in any case go on google and search for "firefox" or go to
<br />
<br />
<a class="post-url" href="http://www.mozilla.org" target="_blank">http://www.mozilla.org</a>
<br />
<br />
download it and install it
<br />
<br />
now you need the "User Agent Switcher" Plugin, as usual it send me to the italian page, but the english page should be:
<br />
<br />
<a class="post-url" href="https://addons.mozilla.org/en/firefox/addon/59" target="_blank">https://addons.mozilla.org/en/firefox/addon/59</a>
<br />
<br />
in any case if the link doesn't work, go to the main page of the firefox plugins, here:
<br />
<br />
<a class="post-url" href="https://addons.mozilla.org" target="_blank">https://addons.mozilla.org</a>
<br />
<br />
and in the search box paste " User Agent Switcher ", the plugin will be the first one on the list, open the page, install it and restart firefox (it will ask to restart)
<br />
<br />
Now on the firefox top bar click on "tools", you'll see a "default user agent" option, go on it and choose "Edit user Agents" , click on "New" and select "New user Agent"
<br />
<br />
Fill "Description" with whatever you want (Safari 4 is ok)
<br />
Fill "User Agent" with
<br />
<br />
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.3 Safari/531.9
<br />
<br />
Fill "App name" with "Safari" and click OK. And OK again
<br />
<br />
Now go back to the Tools/Default User agent, the last one on the list will be Safari 4, click on it and now you can go to the video chat room <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/Laie_92A.gif" alt="" />
<br />
<br />
See you on saturday in the Video Chat Room <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/ayeah.gif" alt="" /> <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/Laie_92A.gif" alt="" /> <-> <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/Laie_92B.gif" alt="" /> <-> <img src="https://www.posetteforever.com/images/smiles/Laie_92A.gif" alt="" />
