Uncle Harold (Wheelchair) gave us a gift !

A new barn in bryce format that I just uploaded in the free stuff page (non parented prop) !

Thank you Harold !!

(Pst... If someone could convert it in a poser format it would be appreciated because I would really use it too )

I can see what I can do later this week, unless some else gets to it before me.

Thanks!

Hawktoy, is there a way to export models created from Bryce primitives? I don't know of any.

Pangor

It can't be done unless the primatives are imported from some other software such as poser, imported and grouped from with in Bryce and then exported as object file out.

That concurs with what I have experienced. You can export rocks, terrains, and lattices but no trees or primitives. I was just hoping that someone found a hidden keystroke sequence or a utillity that can read and translate the files.

Pangor

I think I may have a way. I have a program that will read the file I think. It's an import plugin for a program and it's the same file extention. What I don't know is wether or not it's the same file type of that extention. When I get off my work and get some sleep I am going to see if I can do it. I am expecting failure but one never knows unless one tries. I already looked at the file structure and can read some of the coding in it. I have two other options. 1 - I will try and model the barn for Poser use in Max, 1A - if I go this route I may model "A" barn from actual blueprints of one, instead of duplicating the same one as WC. OR 2 - (And this is probably a BIG project) is to write a program or plugin that will take this Bryce model and import it into Max. Either way I will promise the Posette For Ever group that they will have a barn for use in Poser as well as Bryce soon.

If you make a plug in that will work to import Bryce to Poser let me know. I have these models that I have built in Bryce but can't give them because of this. It would be a wonderful break threw. Or even threw Daz Studio to import to Poser. Just some ideas.

Okay, a little update. The plugin that I have is as I thought. Not a bryce object import. Which is kind of wierd as Bryce is the only program I am aware of that uses an obp file extention....

So now what to do. Yes I might be able to write a plugin but it would most likely be an Import plugin for Max. Which I think I am going to attempt. The downfall. I haven't written a plugin for importing in a long time and the fact that no one else has done it yet makes me wonder why. So what to do. First as I said everyone will have a barn for Poser, so I must begin modeling that. Second try and figure out how to do an import plugin for a Bryce obp file. So there you go. I am going off to model the barn. The one I picked out is a horse barn Once that's done it's time to crack open the books and see what is required to start work on a plugin.
