That about sums it up, Ken.
I think there is a bit of exaggeration there.
Water freezes at 32F no matter where you go.
I have seen that some years ago, but it is still funny.

 at Ken's list.

Quote:

You, Ozy, and others from warm climates, stepping into our
deep freeze, you could die from the shock to your system.

Yeah, don't I know it! A few years back a group of us in the industry took a (business)holiday to Dusseldorf for a trade show. In early Feburary...

It was around 30C on the Gold Coast at the time. About twenty-eight cramped-cattle-class-flying-hours later we were feeling the cold air actually freez our very thoughts before they were even formed

Oh, man, it hurt to breathe! But we kept drinking until we couldn't feel it anymore. We were there a week, loved it, but learned a healthy respect for cold climates!

And developed an unhealty passion fo German Frauleins

Hmmm....

I might be able to use a variation of your quotation to my advantage today when I am asked by "you know who", the question ...

"What ? Are you stupid or something ?"

I can reply with a slight variation in the first person based on a comment above...

"I am feeling the cold air actually freeze my very thoughts before they were even formed..."
and blame it on you Ozy. That way, I'm off the hook !

Why are you Gold Coast guys called "Banana Benders" ?
It can't be good...

Glad to be of service... *Ozy, takes a bow*

About the Banana Benders, most of the state is sub-tropical and perfect for banana plantations, sugar cane and the like. So just a state nickname. Also a bit of a reference to our supposed intilligence level...

Did you hear the one about the Queensland Banana plantation owner? He went broke. He threw out all the bent ones!!

Also because of the sugar cane and the imported pest, the cane toad (an ugly brute brought in to clean up some pesky bugs and now running in amlost plague numbers with no natural predators), in a lot of interstate sports we are called the 'Cane Toads', as opposed to the southern states, the 'Cockroaches'
