Win 98 SE???
I have to admit, I won't even support that anymore....
I have sold out to the demons and I run windows XP. I must admit it is better then anything pre windows 2000. I have run every operating system Microsoft has distributed, and by far this one is the most robust when it comes to hardware, software functionality, and everything comming all in one. Granted it has its issues, but that is why they came out with windows update.

Yep, Landman, i've heard, that XP is very good and secure. But my PC is old, 500 MhZ, 192 MB RAM, and therefore, XP is not an alternative for me (i've also a couple of old programs and hardware, that does'nt work on XP :crybaby: ).
My posting is against NT vs. 98 (that was a big theme for some years. All the NT-Users are said, that NT is better than 98, but my experience is not so. WIN98 is for Multimedia really good enough).
I've used WIN 3.1, WIN95, and i proofed WIN ME and WIN2000 (the last 2 are crap!).
Therefore i think, since NT/WIN98 - XP is the 1st well MS-OS.
If i buy a new PC once in my lifetime, i will prefer XP too.

The big main difference between the two operating systems is the actual file system. with anything on the 95/98/me platforms the best you can get is a 32 bit file allocation table. With anything built on the NT core you can format a hard drive with the New Technology File System (NTFS). Which will give you more control over the actual data structure for security, encryption, compression etc. Where as you need to depend on third party applications running on an unsecure operating system with 95/98/me
