Hi friends, I'm having big problems on my PC and I'm on my brother's one, but I may solve them today. I'm experiencing problems with the site, it seems to block when, for example , I try to load all the emoticons page. I'll contact the support at godaddy or I'll change hosting company in a couple of days, however the problem will be hopefully solved in the weekend.
Sorry for the inconvenience, I'll be back :crybaby:

I just uninstalled the crappy Vista :snooty: and reinstalled XP, I'll tell you why tonight, lol
Subject: Re: Various problems on the site and on my PC ...sigh
 I wiped another Vista today, too
A friend of mine bought a new PC on monday, an Vista was preinstalled. Almost none of the application she is used to work with would work. So she needed her XP back, too.
Worst thing was, Sims2 wasn't working, and she'd die without it :snooty: :lmao:

My "Wolfenstein" copy had the same problem    so...
However, the difference from Xp don't worth the upgrade, plus it has some more security characteristic resulting only in annoying and boring continue requests to the users, like 2 popups windows when you have to delete a file :uuh: ... You can even turn off that thing but the system wants it on and continue to ask you to turn it on... I have a wireless connection to the router here but with Vista it doesn't work fine, for example with online games (a lot of "disconnected" pop ups). I resolved this thing in XP using the driver of the company that made the wireless card, but it is impossible in Vista and it's nearly impossible to change the parameters too. Poser freezed because of (I think) the vdeo card driver that can't be tuned in Vista (no modified drivers have been yet released). I turned back to XP, just reinstalled a lot of things (It took very very long...) and I think I'll wait for the next O.S.

I've been playing a bit with a program called VMware recently. It builds a virtual computer with all own (emulated) hardware inside windows. On this machine you can run test installations of OSs without any harm for the host sytem. I.e I've installed a complete UBUNTU Linux, another mini Linux with only a firefox and some other web applications installed for extra safe surfing, and an old plain dos installation for some veeery old games, too  It's fun and makes sense at the same time :thumb:

this is great Andreas  sometimes I use the MAME emulator for old fashioned bar-game like the original Pacman and Willam's Defender. I've a Linux Knoppix disk that I use sometimes

I've been using Microsoft's "Virtual PC" software for the same thing... and also because I've got a bizaare affection for my ancient old DOS 3D rendering software "Imagine" and can't help hauling it out for occasional use. There are still some things I can do with it when editing object meshes that are just too fiddly when using 3D Studio MAX.
As for Vista, my PC has been working fairly reliably - give or take an unhappy ATI RAEDON card - under XP for 4 years now. I'm not gonna tamper with that. Especially as I have multiple XP boot partitions set up. One for games, one for CGI, and my main one for net and entertaiment use. Add to that my old Amiga emulator, my even older Atari 8-bit emulator, and my incredibly ancient PDP-11, IBM 360 and VAX emulators, the last thing I need is another OS!
Then of course there is MAME and all the console emulators as well. Sheesh.
Makes you wonder how people got by without computers, though.
