Subject: hi everyone, new to forum
Hi i just started rendering and 3D animating in Poser, as a hobby, I happened to stumble across this site some how i don't quite remember, so far it has been very helpful in locating alot of freebies.

Anyway the problem i can't figure out is collision detection, i turn collision detect on, then i turn it on for both objects/figures/props properties, but they still pass through one another, this seems like it will be an easy fix for anyone who knows what they are doing. thnx for your help.

Hi Redeemer :bigrinnin: !
Welcome to our little site, hope you like it !

I suppose you have Poser 5, I've Poser 4 (no collision detection), but I'm sure that one of our beloved :heartbeat: ( :-k ) users will be able to help you !

I only have Poser 4 too, and I have no idea what collision is, so I'm afraid I can't be of any help either. I'm sure though as tormentor said someone will know the answer. I too would like to welcome you to Posette Forever, this is a wonderful site and Tormentor does a great job with it and keeps it very friendly here :)

Always,
Guilty Pleasures

Well, I played around a bit with my version of P5 and found out how the collision detection works..

On the right side of the rendering window there's a bunch of buttons, the bottom one being for the collision detection. Here you turn it on/off and enable a view of when two objects collide and where.
When you've enabled the collision detection there, you need to enable collision detection on the individual props you want it used on. There's a checkbox for this in the 'properties' tag on objects.

So, I turned on 'collision detection' on a box and a sphere, and enabled the main collision detection, and now the sphere won't go through the box anymore :bigrinnin:

Ah, another case of not reading the original question well enough :-k
"There are no stupid questions, but stupid answers may occur"
If you're sure you've turned on collision for both items that are supposed to collide, and the main collision control, then I don't see why it's not working
