I've had it with IE whatever version. <br /> Yesterday after I found the P2 Asimo stuff, I was looking <br /> for something with Google. The usual dead sites showed up <br /> and I thought nothing of it. <br /> Last night I went to look for something and my homepage <br /> was redirected to an unwanted search engine. I can't get <br /> rid of it, even with spyware eliminating software. <br /> If I save the homepage and log out as the current user and <br /> log in again, the homepage is always redirected to the stupid <br /> search engine. I have done everything possible, even getting <br /> a service pack upgrade from Microsoft, but it is still there. <br /> I eliminated or moved suspect files to another folder, but it <br /> still exists. <br /> I am going to search the entire drive for some specific byte patterns and <br /> find out what file that thing sits in. <br /> <br /> I downloaded Mozilla and I think I will kiss that IE shit good-bye <br /> along with some other things. <br /> Mozilla has a built in popup blocker and is extremely secure. <br /> It works fine here and elsewhere. :D/

Den, its a registry edit. usually software called hijack this will repair that for you. <br /> <br /> see the attachment in the next post

Thanks Landman, that did the trick. <br /> <br /> A line like "Run regedit -s sys.reg" was writing to the registry to hijack the homepage. <br /> It saved me a lot of time looking around. <br /> I also found some .hta files which is another popular hijacking method.
