I've had free webspace for awhile now, but I've wanted to get my own lately. Especially now that my current one has gone down and has stayed down for weeks and weeks.
Anyone know of a good one (that allows norwegian users)? The most plausible host atm looks to be www.godaddy.com , but there could be better options out there I haven't discovered  : :|

Well, When i was looking for webspace, i found some for free at http://www.illfuckinghostit.com they do have free space there and a variety of pay packages. The site was somewhat unorthodox and cought my attention so i decited why not and hosted my stuff there. there hasn't been a problem and its been probably 7 months now.

if you want a free space I think that lycos is the best (you have to use only a pop-up killer) : ftp upload, php database etc. , I have a test site at lycos UK (I don't trust italians    )

I pay 50$ a year for 4 gb monthly badwidth and 200 Mb of disk space at www.ifroggy.com (but if you go here http://www.phpbbhacks.com/hosting/
you can have a little discount   .

They accept italians so I don't see why not Norwegians

iFroggy and phpbbhacks seem to have identical offers and pricing, so iFroggy seems like the best choice atm.. but I also want a domain name..

Phpbbhacks has 1gb more of bandwidth for the same price   , anyway, you have to buy your domain name separately and they will use it for your site for free. For a cheap domain name you can try www.dot.tk
if you don't need .com .org .net etc., I use the free redirection service (www.posetteforever.tk) but it has pop-ups. If you buy the domain name you can transfer it to your site (and no pop-ups)

And since it runs through iFroggy, might as well get it from them.

I know about dot.tk, but I'd prefer a more common like .com or .org etc. so no .tk for me I believe

Anyway, I use the standard plan, and if you compare the offers you can see an extra 1gb. It could be in my mind, but it's strange, I look at it more and more and it is still there

It's the best offer I found, the control panel is clear and have all the features I needed. They have also an excellent online service (they reply in minutes) for newbies like me. It's the server where posetteforever stays   . They accept customers from everywhere, so you need only a credit card ready and hot...

(Anyway, if you find something better *aehm* please advice...)
