Post Re: About the Anniversary

#16  melamkish 15 Mar 2006 05:23

Here is the first floor, unfurnished and unpainted. For some reason, the floor rendered at the wrong level.  Looks about half way up the walls, but should give you an idea.  Nice and roomy!

The building is 200ft x 120ft (61m x37 m.  The first level walls are 16ft (5m)high.  The two entertainment (party) rooms in the front are 50ft x 50ft (15.4m x15.4m), with sliding glass doors to the front patio.  The kitchen is in the far left corner, the library in the far right corner.  On the left toward center are 3 project rooms, on the right towards center are the office and behind it a private room. The grand enterance has a spiral staircase to the upper floor and a storage room on each side behind.

The front patio is paved with mosaic paving stones.  The outside of the building is granite.

When the second floor is done, there will be a balcony above the front patio supported by colums.

It's going rather quickly.  I had to start from scratch about 3 hours ago due to a brain disconnect,   so should be ready to preview the PF mansion in time (I hope).

Done in Floorplan v10 and Turbocad 11.2.  Rendered in  Floorplan with a bmp output.

Here are a couple views of the first floor.  Comments and suggestions for decoratings would be appreciated.

I'm hoping to get this set up as a completely furnished mansion model to eventually upload here.

I'm experimenting with the different floorings. There is light wood throughout most of the first floor, different tile on the left rear corner, and a blue carpet.  Cherry in a couple rooms to the right.

And a front view of the enterance.  Second floor is in place with the balcony, still need to add column support, change the windows and finish the interior walls.

But it should be far enough along to hold the aniversary party in and around the grounds!

Either of the big rooms to the front can be used for real dancing.  Virtual dancing can be done anywhere!

I have two stories done except for some tweeking.  In reality, a final version is probably some time in the future, but it is coming along nicely and might be close enough to try out.  Currently the dxf exports as one object. Appears to render nicely in bryce (so far under 100.000 polys) and Poser with flat shaded textures.  I'll have to group and texture, etc.

I will continue any detailed discussion of this project in a new topic.  As I will probably need help with some aspects, we could get way off topic.

Party time is getting close.

What else can we do to get ready?

Clean out the undergound area?  Feed the thing so he won't eat the guest.  and render some more pictures for the exhibition.  Make some more virtual friends for us to meet and invite them to the party.  Teach Gilgamesh some manners so he does not offend the ladies.  I had better get busy!

Busy indeed! Can we ever feed the Thing enough to stay away from the stray guest?  I'll send some of the construction cleanup crew over from the country club site.  Just don't tell them about the thing before you send them down below!

I think I can manage a few pictures, and I think the country club will be ready.  Maybe not fully furnished, but the party rooms and kitchen should be done as well as the landscaping.

Gilgamesh, don't know. You know how those ancients are.

I've been beating myself silly trying to get this model done (it is finished!) and realized I've been looking at the wrong calendar in the kitchen.

Holy smoke! One week, people! Only one more week to get ready.

Pangor, I'll lend a hand cleaning up the ole clubhouse (mop bucket and mop in hand). Time to put some old skills to work.

Say, have you seen anything of the crew that went down below?

The only report I heard fromt he crew was a loud BURP.

Did you remember to include a library?

Just finished and uploaded a pic to the event's gallery.
