Hi Deb! welcome to PosetteForever!
There are fixes for the troubles that you mentioned; unfortunately I am unsure of where to find them. Fear not though, one of the true Posette gurus will see this thread, and point you towards the info that you seek.

Hi Deb and welcome to Posetteforever !
About your question, if I understood it in the right way, you can do something using the jpconverter, we have a thread here .
You can even play with the joint editor on your final pose or, if you've Poser 7, there is a shaping tool that can solve the problem. Same thing can be done exporting the posed character as an obj and play on it with an external program like " Blender" that's free . Some of us use this program to make face morphs or full body morphs, there are some nice tutorials by rayera here and here

Hi, all,
Had to go to work.
What I found happening was in the neck as I tilted the head up the neck became distorted and then in the crouching postion the upper thigh where it joined the body looked like a tree trunk placed against the body trunk. Of course the more I tried to correct it the worse it got I finally decided to give up before I lost it entirely.
Oh, and I can't figure out how to upload the picture
Thanks, Deb

Thank you to all for making me feel welcome and all the help. I had the Poser program on my computer for a year but not done anything with because I was a little afraid. Thank you for making me feel at home!

Well it depends on what model/figure u are using. The crack/ distortion u see cam be fixed if u go to the liks ahjah provided and download the fixes from there and then install them in Poser - but they will only work if you are using posette/the p4woman.
If u are using another model - or if u don't want to download the fixes for Posette, u can try and change the angle of the neck ( make the angle smaller) and angle the head and or torso a bit - that ight give the same effect.
Another solution might be to cover the crack with a turtleneck or hair.
good luck!
