I spent some good time correcting the bbcode errors in some old topics: A couple (or more...) years ago I upgraded the site to PHP5 using a script that additionally   added some strange code at the end of the bbcodes, every time this code is different so I've to watch every single topic in the forum (I won't complain anymore about PF being a little place ) . Little I can do on the comments in the Album becasue I've a script for the forum but not for the album, anyway when I see something wrong there I'll correct it.

Some codes for the smilies (Koloboks) have changed, I replaced them with a script.

The problem of quotes and double quotes in the Album has still to be solved, it's a very nasty and nested problem...

I updated the Bots list, Now the bots have their own identity (I hope that Chromium will like them )

I would have liked to have Posy   talk again, but being this version of PF a mix of phpbb2 and phpbb3 it's really, really a mess, but I'm trying to work on it...

I'll fix the message near the small pictures (Robert (leahman) made almost all of them ) and make it better soon...

I don't know much about coding but In the album one thing I saw was something like an unicode problem.
The other, the '/" problem, looks like some script handles the text input as a string that is put into "..." inside the code. Actual doubles inside the text are converted into singles at this step. On output it has to be re-converted somehow. In this case it seems to convert ALL single quotes to double
Maybe it's all the same problem, the output looks like someone's trying to produce HTML/XML compatible code, not meant for direct output on the screen.
That's my ideas, don't laugh, as I said, I'm no hacker

fact is that quotes and double quotes are used in the php language, so what is writtens has to be "parsed" by a function. This code was made for php4, now the site is on php5, I had to enable the "magic quote" parameters but I should reinvent a whole code for the parsing of the comments and the title. The only reccomendetion that I can give for now is to avoid the use of quotes and double quotes in the Album. I contacted long ago the author of the software modifications (on icyphoenix) but it looks like the new version of the program is still the same.

An upgrade of the whole site is a BIG problem. Everything is 90% working now, a brand new software would add months of things partially working, but more than that, it's not that the "technology" of the forums added something so new to worth a change, they are still the same things refined. The real threat is hacking. In case of hack I'll have to upgrade no matter what , like the last time. But on this server we have adaily automatic backup so our data are safe.

I just noticed, that if you edit the album text after uploading a pic and correct the double quote thingie it works, so the problem seems to be in the picture upload routine, I think

Thank you for the check Andreas, I'll take a look. As far as I know the "edit" function is the same of the initial description. but I've to check it all. In this period I'm a little busy with the school and the selling of the house but there are these two or three problems that have to be addressed. I'll do it, promised...
