Post Realistic P3 Dork

#1  Marv 04 Apr 2011 03:00

For whatever the reason I was going some of my old Poser files from years ago and came across an old superhero figure from the 3D Comic Collective site (before they became Animotions). Anyways, I was looking at the texture work and thought I could clean up the figure and update it a bit. Since the P3 man had so few textures to work with I decided to take a P4 texture and convert it to fit the P3 figure. I chose the "P4 Male Texture Maker" by Jose' Silva for two reasons: 1. It was a very high detail texture and 2. it was made to be modified and re-distributed. So I put it in the Freestuff section. Take a look at the promo omage and then head on over to the Freestuff and snap it up! Let me know what you think.

Happy Rendering!

Could there be something more crazy than doing stuff for Posette, still?
Yes, Marv made the grades! He's making stuff for P3(!!!) Dork
What an idea, if you'd have posted this some day earlier, I'd thought it to be an April prank
Nevertheless, it looks good on first sight. The old P3 mapping with all materials separated in the map has it's advantages, too. I'm using some P3 Posettes from time to time.
I'll give it a try and let you know (I may have some P3 characters in my backups, I remember one ogre with great muscles )
Is there any chance to get José's original P4 texture somewhere? I'm afraid I missed it...
Thanks for this

I believe I got the texture at Arrow 3D a few years back. I'll continue trying to track down the site and provide a link if I find it. If I'm not mistaken Jose' also did some work on the very realistic Andreia texture as well.

If anyone is interested the artist that originally created the texture can be contacted at Renderosity or Daz3D. Do a member search for 3Dream or Jose' Silva.

First of all, I gave it a quick try this afternoon. I like it, it renders nicely, and especially the hip(Gen) region works better than most P4 maps. The eyes are better with P3 mapping, too, cos P4 Dork is mapped cross eyed.
As for José's original, I've looked at Arrow 3D and searched RR freebies where I know I got the female counterpart from (years ago, gone too), but didn't find it
It would be a nice addition to my (too small) P4M texture collection...

I contacted Jose' through his Renderosity account about getting permission to post both the p4 male and female textures or at least provide a link for them. We'll see what happens. I'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks a lot.
I remember some photo based textures for Posette he made years ago but they are not available any more. (I'm using the eyes in most of my Posette renders) We would be proud to host them here at PF.

Thank you Marv !! I added the link to the freebies page to your message .

I would also be great to store here some forgotten stuff, some authors just disappeared ...

Don't tell me that      I lost  one of my HD where I stored my runtimes, and the things I most want to get back are my P4 people stuff, that are old and hard to find, some of them are stored in old CDs and DVDs but those textures looked so good in Pitklad Nea P4.
By the way Andreas, I must download all your fantastic morphs too, thanks to Lord all of them are here in the free stuff

I had a HD crash last autumn and I lost lots of my OWN stuff.
Fortunally I could download some of it from here, unfortunally I did not load up ALL I made to our freebies over the years ...

I have been in contact with Jose' Silva (3Dream) the past couple of days requesting to have the P4 Male Texture Maker and the P4 Female Texture Maker hosted here as freebies to the PosetteForever community. There was some misunderstanding at first  and he would prefer that we use the current textures for Posette that are on his site http://www.arrow3d.com . It wasn't until last night that I found that he is a member here.    So 3Dream if you're reading this, my apologies.
